Piano & Woodwinds
An Illinois native, Jordan grew up in a small suburb of Chicago. She began playing the oboe at age 10, which allowed her to discover her love of music. From there, Jordan began studying piano privately as well as learning the saxophone to become involved in the school jazz band. During high school, Jordan was the principal oboist for the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as her school’s band and orchestra. She also held the principal oboe position in her town’s local municipal band and wind ensemble. She participated in her school’s marching and pep bands as well as the orchestra pit for the school musicals. Jordan was selected as an Illinois All-State Honors musician three years in a row, and she performed numerous oboe and piano solos for solo and ensemble contest, regularly winning the “best of the day” performance award.
Most recently, Jordan has held the position of principal oboe with the UCF symphony orchestra and wind ensemble. Jordan is currently attending the University of Central Florida studying music education with an elementary general music focus. She is so excited to share her passion with her students as well inspire them to find their own love of music.
